Welcome to the Applied Mechanics and Composites τεχνολογια (Technology) Lab at the School of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering, Oregon State University.
Our research focuses mainly in two areas:
1) Experimental and theoretical research in fluid-structures interactions, at the boundary between fluid dynamics and thin light-weight flexible structures and related materials. Relevant applications are in artificial and biological flight.
2) Applied-engineering and manufacturing methods of fiber composite materials. Marine and aerospace applications of composites are addressed as well as renewable energy including off shore wind energy and wave energy.
The lab has significant experience in experimental techniques in a variety of engineering and biological applications.
