The Kinect sensor, which is used in Xbox devices, can collect gait data without the need for contact with the human body. Recent research in HSE Lab demonstrated that the collected gait data can be analyzed by artificial intelligence methods to support early detection, remote monitoring, or physical rehabilitation in Parkinson’s disease. At this point of the project, we want to understand the barriers and enablers of translating such technological innovations originated from a university into healthcare practice. Also, we want to assess the integration and impact of a Kinect-based health assessment device on the healthcare delivery system.
