PHD STUDENTS

Qais Jahager

Qais was born and raised in Baghdad, the capital city of Iraq. He earned his BS degree and his MS degree in Civil Engineering from Al-Mustansiriya University in Baghdad. In 2014, Qais joined OSU to pursue a PhD degree in Civil Engineering. Qais is married and has three children (one boy and two girls). Outside of school, Qais enjoys being at home with his family and watching soccer matches whenever possible. He also enjoys outside activities, especially biking and walking. His research interests are in construction productivity, project management and control, and application of automation tools and digital information systems in construction industry.

Khandakar Rashid

Khandakar was born in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh. He completed his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering in 2012 and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh and M.Sc. in Technology and Construction Management from Missouri State University in 2017. During his undergrad study, Khandakar grew a particular interest in engineering visualization techniques. He, along with two of his friends formed a startup in Bangladesh providing visualization services for public engineering projects in Bangladesh. His primary research interest is application of AR/VR, sensor data, and machine learning in construction engineering in order to move towards automation for construction industry. Khandakar is interested in music and magic tricks. He also enjoys playing badminton time to time at OSU recreational center.

Kenny Fiawoyife

Gustavo Lotti

Gustavo Lotti is a Civil Engineer from Brazil graduated on 2012 who worked for eight years in construction industry by performing five vertical buildings projects. His professional expertise is based on productivity and planning with focus on application of Lean Construction tools in construction industry. Currently he is a MS student from Oregon State University with focus on construction, advised by Dr Joseph Louis his research field is based on application of modeling and Lean Construction tools to measure, manage and reduce wastes in construction projects. His goal is to develop an applicable tool or process to reduce wastes in the construction phase.
