This project is collaborating with Architecture Applications - a small innovative firm in Portland OR. The objective of the project is to develop a high-performance, low-cost heat and moisture exchanger based on coupled membrane and microchannel technologies, with the ability to process 300 SCFM air. With enhanced heat and mass transfer through innovative microchannel designs, the designed latent and sensible effectiveness are 80% and 90% respectively - significantly above the industry standard. Our lab is responsible for the design of experiment, setup the experiment facility and perform the experiment. The collected performance data is used to validate the heat and mass transfer model.
