AMPL currently has the following equipment:
Nanoparticle Sintering and Additive Manufacturing:
Sinteron 3000 Xenon Lamp System
Drop-on-demand Piezoelectic inkjet head deposition system integrated with fiberoptic guided xenon lamps for depositing and printing nanoparticle patterns within the same desktop setup
Aerosol jet printhead integrated with fiberoptic guided xenon and UV lamps for depositing and printing nanoparticle films within the same desktop setup
Xenon lamp integrated with Digital Micromirror device for sintering nanoparticle patterns over large areas
- Signatone four-point probe station equipped with a Keithley variable voltage and power source.
- Tectronix 4-channel oscilloscope
- Gamma-scientific radiometric optometer
- Lumen Dynamics UV light radiomet
- A full scale and a bench scale fume hood, precision balance, hot plate and ultrasonicator for weighing and mixing tools for making nanoparticle inks.
- Thermoimager TIM infrared camera capable of measuring up to 1500°C with error of ±2% for taking picture and videos, as well as for analyzing temperature in a desired field of view
- Mendel Prusa 3D printer
Machining and Forming:
- Single Point Incremental Forming Setup on HAAS CNC with Kistler 3-axis plate-type dynamometer
- High current power supply
- Tektronix High Voltage power supply
- Double Sided Incremental Forming prototype (currently being built)
Computational tools:
5 Dell computational workstations with a minimum of 24 CPUs and a maximum of 40 CPUs, as well as 64 GB of RAM and 3.10 GHz Intel processors. The software available on these workstations includes MATLAB, ABAQUS, COMSOL, Code V optical simulation software, LAMMPS, OVITO and XMD.
In addition we have access to the facilities at the Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Institute including the following relevant resources:
