Graduate Students: We are looking for highly motivated students to join the group. Familiarity with shop tools, Matlab, Labview, FEA (e.g. ABAQUS, COMSOL) mechanical material testing, microcontrollers and motion/ actuation systems is highly desirable. Typically PhD students will perform both hands-on experimental and computational work. PhD students who wish to join the lab must be comfortable with applied mathematics and physics in general. Masters students will usually perform either experimental or computational work depending on their preference and availability of projects in the lab.
Undergraduates (multiple openings available): We are always looking for undergraduate students with the ability and interest in machine design and fabrication. Sustained opportunities for paid work related to related to additive manufacturing/3D printingĀ are available. The ability to use machine shop tools like lathe, mill, grinder etc. is a must and the ability to do CNC machining is highly desirable.
