In late July 2014, the CIRELab hosted two high school students as part of the SESEY (Summer Experience for Science and Engineering for Youth) program for girls and minorities with an interest in math and science. The hosted students worked with undergraduate and graduate students in the CIRELab learning about fluid dynamics and performing an investigation of the thermal radiation properties of gaseous carbon dioxide. A major contribution the hosted students made was the development of a new method of a carbon dioxide dispersal system. Their experience culminated with a poster and oral presentation documenting their findings and experiences in the lab.
